Topics which will be covered include the UK Pension Commission’s report, a review of recent and proposed UK and local pensions legislation, current problems for local pension schemes and what’s new in investment for defined benefit and defined contribution schemes.
The afternoon session will feature workshops on investment and member communications, including a discussion on investment manager selection and monitoring.
Mike Perrett, who heads BWCI’s Jersey office, said the Channel Islands’ pension problems were in effect very similar to the UK, although current benefits for Jersey pensioners were considerably better.
