Alice Cubbage (11) is making big attempts to get back AG the growling brown bear belonging to her student brother Harry before he returns from university.
Through a series of mix-ups, AG was placed on the stall which Alice, her sister Katie (9) and two friends set up on Gorey Common last Saturday to raise funds for a trip to Disneyland.
On that stall were many of Alice’s unwanted toys and she had not realised that AG had been placed in one of the boxes.
Later, when one of her friends said she had sold a brown bear for £3 to an elderly lady, Alice was shocked to realise that it was AG.
Alice’s mother, Lucy, said the jointed bear, which growls when turned upside down, had been given to Harry when he was three by his grandmother and was therefore of sentimental value.
