But the excitement got a bit much for some.
David and Garry Peck, dressed as the arch-rivals Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi, battled it out in the foyer as their sister Julie Peck, as Princess Leia, tried to defuse the situation.
Kevin Lewis, manager of the New Forum, said: ‘We were delighted with the turnout.
The film looks amazing, and many of the crowd said that it was the best yet.’
