As things stand, predictions are Monday’s weather will be bright and warm and without rain.

However, this Saturday, which is the day many of the parishes have organised their own celebrations, is expected to be breezy and wet at first.

Duty forecaster Adrienne Le Maistre said: ‘At the moment the forecasts say Liberation Day will be bright with a reasonable amount of sunshine.

There doesn’t appear to be too much wind for that day either and the temperatures should reach the high teens, so it will be a pleasant day.

‘As for Saturday, the information we have suggests it will be a bit breezy with a few spots of rain in the morning, but not enough to cause too much of a problem to any celebrations.

But it should gradually brighten up by the afternoon, although remain breezy.’ With warm, sunny weather predicted, the St John Ambulance are advising people to take the usual precautions – wear a hat, use sunscreen and drink plenty of water.
