The Grenville Street-based firm has opened offices in Dubai and New York to develop new business in these key financial centres.
The Dubai office is in the Emirates Tower and will be staffed by Brian Williams of Mourant Private Wealth, the firm’s private wealth management division.
The firm is thought to be the first Jersey-based company to be granted a licence by the Dubai Financial Services Authority.
James Crill, head of Mourant Private Wealth, said: ‘For several years we have been developing new business relationships in the region with the aim of delivering Mourant’s wealth management services to the extremely discerning Gulf market.
‘Establishing a permanent and regulated presence is the latest stage in our strategy to grow our market share.
Compliance The New York office will focus on fund administration and provide accounting, administration, tax compliance and cash management services to US fund sponsors.
Mourant is currently recruiting experienced staff and the New York team, led by Steve Davidson, is expected to number ten to 12 people by the end of this year.
Mourant’s global head of fund administration, Rupert Walker, said: ‘We are delighted to launch our US office at a time when substantial funds are being raised around the world and we are now in a position to offer a broad range of services to both onshore and offshore funds in the US and Europe.
Mourant began life in 1947, when Jersey law firm Mourant du Feu & Jeune was founded.
As well as its two new offices, the group operates in Jersey, Guernsey, London, Croydon, Luxembourg, the Cayman Islands and Seattle and employs 700 people.
