The old Beaufort Hotel in Green Street is currently undergoing a major development and will open in July as The Club Hotel and Spa.
Its owner, Huggler & Co, is spending £7m to transform the building into a townhouse-style hotel and the company’s managing director, Lawrence Huggler, is confident it will meet the five-star standard.
‘This is a huge investment for Jersey and represents one of the most exciting developments for the tourism industry in recent years,’ he said.
‘All 38 guest rooms and eight suites will be furnished to an exceptionally high standard, with ensuite granite bathrooms, WiFi internet access and a specially designed entertainment centre, which includes a minibar and DVD player.
‘And the spa will also be the height of luxury.
We wanted to reflect Jersey’s close association with the sea so chose a profile brand called Algotherm, which has developed sophisticated skin-rejuvenating products using seaweed and mud from the nearby Brittany coast.
Including a salt water pool and four treatment rooms, the spa will be a perfect retreat for visitors.
