The source of the trouble is still unknown, but the possibility of it coming from a sunken ship off the coast of Guernsey has been ruled out.

Small wax pellets, which look like snow, have been washing up on the beach for the past few days and analysis has shown they contain hazardous substances.

Yesterday’s clean-up operation gathered just over a ton of the pellets.

People have been warned about the pellets and told not to allow children or pets touch the wax.
