The Save Our Streets campaign will aim to improve the town and country environment by removing the jumble of unnecessary, unpleasant and obtrusive street clutter.
The WI, stalwarts of local communities from the Channel Islands to John O’Groats, are joining branches throughout the British Isles to undertake a community audit to improve urban and rural environments.
In the UK the WI has joined forces with English Heritage to mount the Save Our Streets campaign, led by US-born travel writer and English Heritage Commissioner Bill Bryson.
