Senator Ted Vibert says that he and his fledgling political party will strongly oppose the proposals contained in Policy and Resources’ Migration Policy published last week.

Under the policy, businesses will be given a fixed number of residential licences and will be able to decide which workers will receive them.

Senator Vibert says that is a ‘preposterous’ suggestion.

‘It is absolute nonsense to give employers rights over the accommodation of employees,’ he says.

‘It gives them too much power, it’s like feudal times with tied cottages and will be open to abuse.

They should have no power over a person’s right to a place to live, it is inherently unfair.’
