JUBRFC batted first against Abbey International and totalled a slightly below par 85 for six in their 12 overs with newcomer Ryan Driver – a former Lancashire player – claiming 3 for 13.
The Banks middle three batsman all reached 23 but no one was able to push on for a big score.
In reply Driver again starred for Abbey.
He top scored with 27 not out as his side reached their target for the loss of just one wicket in the tenth over.
Danny Coyne’s unbeaten 30 was easily the pick of Farmers I’s 80 for four – a total that was never going to be enough to challenge the powerful OVs batting line-up.
Despite the early loss of Chris Jones, consistent batting from Nigel Johnson, Tom and Bobby Minty saw OVs to 83 for two, in just nine overs, to strenghten their grip at the top.
Division II pace setters Centurions also had a straighforward victory after they totalled a useful 104 for five from their 12 overs against Walkovers.
Richard Huckle top-scored with 52 not out.
Walkovers never recovered from the loss of both openers in the second over and were all out for 82 in the tenth over.
Bouchard top scored with 41.
Springfield recorded their first victory of the season after being all out for 98 in 12 overs against Lord’s Taverners JJCA I, Richard Parker, with a typically hard-hit 58, the only batsman to reach double figures.
Although the youngsters got off to a good start thanks to Neil Crowell (43 not out) and Matt Hanley, the middle order struggled against tight bowling from Lee Graveson and Parker and they finished on 82 for five, going down by 16 runs.
