GOLF: The Demi Golf Society’s Le Duc & Matson Cup, played at St Clement’s Golf & Sports Centre on Saturday, was won by Roger de Sousa who finished with 32 points off a handicap of 10.

Gary Parsons was second, 32 pts, 12 h’cap and Rich Schollhammer was third with 31 pts, 17 h’cap.

SAILING: Races 1 and 2 of the RCIYC Winter Dinghy series were held on Saturday.

Henry Perkins won race 1 and was second in race 2 so currently leads the overall table.

Joseph Richomme won race 2.

In the senior races Jeff Speller currently tops the table after he won race 2 and was third in race 1.

HOBIE SAILING: In the RCIYC Hobie Fleet Autumn/Winter series, races 3 and 4 were held yesterday.

It was a clean sweep for David Carter and Ian Simpson, and for Alex and Clive Pearce, each pair winning both their races in the A and B fleets respectively.

In the Dragoon class, Matthew Dale and Thomas Harris won race 3 and Emma and Laura Voak won race 4.

VOLLEYBALL: The Jacksons Mitsubishi Jersey Ladies volleyball squad had an excellent weekend at the Guernsey Open competition, reaching the semi-finals where they were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Guernsey side Goldridge de Beauvoir.

The men’s squad were less successful, finishing eighth of the 11 teams competing.

BADMINTON: Winner of the men’s singles in the 76th Jersey Open tournament, No 1 seed Mark Constable, also won the men’s and the mixed doubles.

In the singles he beat No 2 seed James Allinson of Yorkshire in straight sets, 15-2, 15-6; in the doubles he teamed up with Jersey’s Richard Wrigley and they beat No 1 seeds Chris Evans and Ian Ross of Middlesex 15-2, 15-7 while in the mixed doubles Constable played with Lucy Burns and they beat Chris Evans and Sarah Burgess 15-3, 15-2.

Winner of the ladies singles was Hampshire’s Joanna Dix who beat Burgess, also from Hampshire, 11-6, 11-9.

GOLF: Richard Rothwell won St Clement’s GC November monthly medal competition with a nett 56 off a handicap of 5.

Alan Gibson beat George Reid on countback after both returned a nett 59.

RUGBY: The JRFC’s under-16 academy squad are through to the next round of the Hampshire Cup, where they will meet Havant after a 17-5 win against Romsey Wasps – the visitors’ first defeat this season – at St Peter yesterday afternoon.

In the JRA/Emeraude Lines league match between Beeches and Les Quennevais honours were even with the final score 12-12.
