In the States this morning, the Bailiff, Sir Philip Bailhache, announced that Prince Charles will arrive on Tuesday 22 June and leave the following morning.

The centrepiece of the Prince’s visit will be a special States sitting at Mont Orgueil on the afternoon of 22 June, at which young actors, under the direction of Arts Centre director Daniel Austin, will present the history of the Island’s constitution and the States.

The sitting will be open to up to 800 members of the public, and the Prince will speak at the ceremony.

Afterwards he will view the regeneration work at Gorey Pier before travelling to St Saviour to perform the official opening of the new Hautlieu School.
