SCF skipper Matt Hague, who played a key role in proceedings, said: ‘It was an excellent game and we just managed to hang on.
We lost a few early wickets and I managed to get 40 runs to give us a score to defend.
‘It was close and Air Con needed 14 runs to win off the last over which I bowled.
I was nervous especially after they hit two boundaries early on.
They then needed five to win off two balls and eventually we got through by two runs.’ Jonathan Prince took four Air Con wickets for 25 runs in his three overs.
Champions St Ouen and Beeches defeated Centurions A and Abacus respectively.
After St Ouen’s Jamie Brewster was caught brilliantly by Morrison at fly slip and Gary Kynman received his second lbw decision in almost as many days, Ward Jenner (56) and Mark Tribe (41) put on 100 for the third wicket.
Although boundaries were hard to come by due to the enthusiastic fielding, the St Ouen number three and four ran everything that was available.
Both fell late on to great catches by Matt Smith on the deep mid-wicket boundary off the bowling of Jez McKeever who finished with 2 for 29.
Peter Brookes dismissed both St Ouen openers for 2 for 24 in three overs.
In reply Centurions found runs hard to come by against the experience of Barry Middleton 0 for 18 off three, and the height of Mo Kemp 0 for 27.
Although, as Centurions did not lose wickets they always stood a chance of increasing the tempo against the first change bowlers.
Leg spinner Stuart Ramskill stood forward and immediately turned the ball square.
He took the three wickets to fall for just 23 runs and was supported by Gareth Jeffreys.
Centurions first three all scored over 25 but the run rate increased and St Ouen closed out the match with 21 runs to spare.
Nine-man Beeches defeated Abacus by 15 runs.
Dave Gorman (83) and Jim Walls (38) put on 115 runs for the the first wicket for Beeches, Gorman hitting seven 4s and a six while Walls chipped in with two boundaries and one six.
