Judicial review sought over island site contract

Development company Dandara has written to WEB’s lawyers putting them on notice that it intends to seek a judicial review of the conduct of the process.Coolwater were selected ahead of Dandara for the contract from a final shortlist of two developers.

A report written by former WEB managing director John Scally that became public last week – despite both WEB and the Policy and Resources Committee wanting the document to remain secret – recommended the selection of Coolwater rather than Dandara. The letter from Dandara’s lawyers to WEB’s legal representatives says that Dandara’s concerns were heightened after reading a copy of Mr Scally’s report.’The contents of that report have only served to reinforce our client’s concerns regarding the conduct of the selection process to choose the developer to partner the board in developing the waterfront,’ wrote Advocate Jane Martin to WEB’s lawyer Advocate John Kelleher.
