New home for Jersey’s tech community

The original Hub in Grenville Street now has more meeting rooms and event spaces, as well as hot desks. Meanwhile office space for tech start-ups has been moved into the next-door building, where a digital academy has also been established.

Tony Moretta, CEO of Digital Jersey, said: ‘We outgrew the hub, we had a waiting list for desks for start-ups and we had too few meeting rooms, so thanks to generous support from government we’ve been able to expand to three floors.

‘We’ve got a whole floor open now to members today for the Hub in terms of meeting rooms and hot desks.

‘In terms of the academy, there’s a whole floor of classrooms and we’ve got a whole floor for start-up desks, and offices for start-ups, as they grow and need more space for themselves.

‘Basically, it’s a lot more space for people who work together and collaborate on projects. We want to get the start-ups and students together because that’s where you get ideas from. You want the students to be inspired by people that are setting up their own businesses in Jersey.’

The Hub and office space is only open to members of Digital Jersey and those working in the digital industry.
