Actress’s campaign will benefit Jersey children

Sarah Parish (47) – who has appeared in TV series such as Peak Practice, Doctor Who and Broadchurch – and her husband, actor James Murray (41), aim to raise £2 million for a state-of-the-art trauma centre at University Hospital Southampton.

The couple established the Murray Parish Trust charity in 2014 in memory of their daughter Ella-Jayne, who died in 2008.

Ella-Jayne spent several months in the Southampton Paediatric Care Unit and underwent two life-saving heart operations before she died of cot death.

Miss Parish and Mr Murray recently announced a matched funding initiative with UK chancellor George Osborne worth £4 million in total to build the paediatric centre for southern and central England.
