Indecent film case before the Royal Court

Timothy John Luce, who served for nine years as a Constable’s Officer for St John, is accused of making and distributing 29 indecent films and 22 indecent photographs of under-16s over the last five years.

Some of the alleged films fall into categories four and five – the two most severe classifications and he is accused of keeping the files on a laptop and a hard drive.

Mr Luce resigned from his position, in which he would have helped his parish’s Centeniers and Vingteniers to carry out duties, when the allegations came to light.

During a brief appearance in the Magistrate’s Court on Friday, Relief Magistrate David Le Cornu formally committed the case to the Royal Court and granted Mr Luce bail. A date has yet to be set for his next court appearance.
