Earlier this year thousands of people responded to the ‘My Jersey’ consultation – one of the biggest ever carried out in the Island – to tell the States where they believed the Island was succeeding, which areas could be improved and what changes they would like to see in the future.
According to the results of the survey, respondents felt that the Island was performing well when it came to protecting historic buildings and heritage assets, plants, wildlife, coast and countryside.
However, people gave negative responses when asked to consider whether Islanders could achieve a decent standard of living independently, whether the Island had affordable, sustainable energy and they rated the provision of quality homes and neighbourhoods poorly.
