These are special people – why not give them a job?

Senator Paul Routier has called for more jobs to be made available for adults who are helped by Les Amis, the charity which he chairs and which encourages disabled people to become more independent. His comments come in the same week that Channel 4 broadcast the programme ‘The Strangest Hotel in Britain’ about the Foxes Hotel and Academy in Minehead. The hotel is staffed by people with learning difficulties and is a launching pad for them to find jobs on the open market. ‘It was a great example showing the skills and abilities that people with learning difficulties have and can develop with the right support,’ said Senator Routier. ‘The respect and dignity that can be gained for having a place in the community through a valued job is immense.’
