BOTH of Condor’s high-speed ferries are due to undergo annual maintenance this winter.

Liberation will be withdrawn from service in November to early January for the pre-planned work, while Voyager is expected to go into dry dock from January until just before the February half-term.

A spokesperson for the ferry company said that Commodore Clipper and Condor’s newest vessel, Islander, will between them operate 12 sailings each week from November through to March – ‘increasing connectivity and capacity compared with last year’.

The Islander will run a new overnight service, leaving Portsmouth late evening and arriving in the islands in the early morning.

The spokesperson continued: ‘Clipper continues with her usual pattern, which sees her operate from the islands overnight into the UK.

‘The use of our two conventional ferries ensures a more resilient service for both passengers and freight during the winter months.’
