Ana Maria Pereira De Sousa Rebelo (51) was found dead in a property in Victoria Street on Tuesday, with a post-mortem concluding that she died as a result of ‘compression to the neck by a third party’.
A 58-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder was released on police bail yesterday while inquiries continue.
DCI Alison Fossey, the senior investigating officer, called for anyone with information about Mrs Rebelo and her movements last weekend and on Monday to come forward.
She added: ‘Whilst we understand the shock and impact Ana’s death has had within the community, there is no suggestion that the public are at any risk.’
