The 20-year-old has now been missing for six days and despite more than 70 professionals from the police, Fire and Rescue Service, ambulance and search and rescue teams, as well as scores of volunteers, working to find him only his phone, wallet and belt have been recovered.
On Thursday, Detective Superintendent Stewart Gull, who has been chairing gold command meetings twice daily that dictate the strategy of the search, said if Mr Lynch was still alive he believed that they would have found him by now.
On Wednesday evening officers were gathering information on two more potential sightings of the electrician and were asking Islanders to keep a look out for Mr Lynch’s Yale door key, Ford Fiesta car key and a gold signet ring encrusted with diamonds.

Speaking to the JEP, Det Supt Gull reiterated that that Mr Lynch’s disappearance was not being looked at suspiciously but said it would be ‘inappropriate’ to rule anything out.
‘This is really difficult as this is a human story,’ he added.
‘Adrian is a bright young man, who is only 20 and is loved by his family.
‘These things have a big impact on the family, the community and even hard-nosed professionals.
‘It is hard to say, but if Adrian was still alive we would like to think we would have found him by now.’
Officers were today due to revisit several homes in the area around where Mr Lynch went missing near Six Roads in St Lawrence and towards the area where he was last sighted.
The search area was also being expanded to the south-west of where he was last seen around St Peter’s Valley.
Dept Supt Gull explained that ‘anniversary searches’ – which work on the theory that humans are creatures of habit and frequent similar places at similar times – are due to be carried out tomorrow night if Mr Lynch is not found before then.
‘We will be carrying out what we call anniversary road checks between around midnight and 3 am tomorrow but more details will be released soon,’ he said.
A Facebook group has been set up by Islanders trying to co-ordinate unofficial search parties for Mr Lynch and Tamba Park, where emergency vehicles are now based, have been offering free drinks for those looking for him.
However Det Chief Insp Turner and Det Supt Gull said their presence could potentially hinder the search.
‘The best thing people can do is check and double check their premises,’ Det Supt Gull added.
