Speak up on abuse, victims are urged

It is calling on abuse survivors, relatives of survivors and people who worked within the care environment to get in touch as they say that any detail could be ‘vital’ in helping the panel uncover what happened to children in States homes.

The inquiry is scheduled to begin its hearings, which will include evidence from victims, on 22 July. The hearings will be held at 12-15 Seaton Place.

Carrie Modral, chairwoman of the Jersey Care Leavers’ Association, said it was not too late for people to contact the charity or the inquiry team. And she said people would be treated sensitively throughout the whole process.

Anyone with any information can contact the inquiry team on 0800 7350100. Alternatively call the Jersey Care Leavers’ Association on 738351 or email jerseycareleavers@gmail.com.
