Lonzo Ball became the youngest player to record an NBA triple-double but it was not enough to prevent the Los Angeles Lakers going down 98-90 to the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.

At 20 years and 15 days old, the point guard eclipsed LeBron James’ record, which was set in the early days of his first stint at the Cleveland Cavaliers, by just four days.

Ball finished with 17 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds, but fell short of the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored 33 for the Bucks.

In San Antonio, the Spurs stormed to a 133-94 triumph over the Chicago Bulls, whose new forward Lauri Markkanen suffered an ankle injury shortly before half-time.

Pau Gasol scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds to help the Spurs to their highest points total of the season.

TJ Warren and Devin Booker poured in 35 points apiece as the Phoenix Suns overcame the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-110 to snap a five-game skid.

James Harden’s 38-point haul lifted the Houston Rockets to a 111-96 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies, while Kevin Love contributed 29 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers downed the Dallas Mavericks 111-104.

Golden State posted their sixth straight win with a 135-114 success against the Philadelphia 76ers, Kevin Durant leading the way for the Warriors with 29 points.

DeMarcus Cousins had 35 points and 15 rebounds in the New Orleans’ Pelicans 111-103 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, while a career-high 32-point haul from Jamal Murray spurred the Denver Nuggets to a 125-107 win against the Orlando Magic.

Elsewhere, the Washington Wizards toppled the Atlanta Hawks 113-94, the New York Knicks saw off the Sacramento Kings 118-91 and the Utah Jazz edged the Brooklyn Nets 114-106.
