TWO late tries in the dying moments saved Jersey Reds from getting back-to-back Championship defeats as Harvey Biljon’s side scraped a draw away at Coventry.
A score from No.8 Tim Grey and a penalty try in a late fight back resulted in a 19-19 stalemate, after a scrappy game at the Butts Park Arena.
A try by Jersey winger Ben Woollett broke the deadlock on the 35th minute and made it 5-0 at half-time.
But three tries by Coventry’s Tom Dodd, Josh Bainbridge and Jordan Poole gave the Midlanders a good second-half lead before Reds’ late double salvo.
The draw gives Reds a crucial two league points, but it means Ealing have stretched their lead in the Championship table, with Coventry third.
