LUKE HARRIS has been named in Wales’ squad of 24 for the start of the European Championships 2024 qualification campaign against Croatia and Latvia. It is the first match of a post-Gareth Bale era, who retired after the World Cup in Qatar.

The Jersey-born Fulham midfielder has been called up to previous squads but is yet to make his debut for the Dragons.

The 17-year-old has made only three Premier League appearances for Fulham, all as a late substitute, though he did start in his side’s 2-0 loss to Crawley Town in the second round of the Carabao Cup last August and in their FA Cup fourth-round replay against Sunderland, which they won 3-2.

Wales will be hoping they can reach their third consecutive European Championship, which is being held in Germany next summer. They play World Cup semi-finalists Croatia in Split on 25 March before hosting Latvia in Cardiff three days later. Turkey and Armenia complete Group D.
