JERSEY Bulls delivered a statement performance at Springfield Stadium this afternoon, thrashing third-placed Raynes Park Vale 5-1 to strengthen their grip on second place in the Isthmian South Central Division.

The Bulls raced into a three-goal half-time lead before adding two more after the break in a dominant display against third place. The victory marks their 30th match without a loss in league football.

Jamie Watling opened the scoring in the 12th minute, smashing home with his left foot after a clean short corner routine. Toby Ritzema produced a deft flick from Sammy Henia-Kamau’s delivery into Watling’s path, allowing the defender to finish emphatically.

Henia-Kamau doubled the advantage 11 minutes later, slotting home after James Sunley played an excellent through ball into his path.

The third arrived just before half-time, and it was a goal worthy of the occasion. Ritzema surged forward from the edge of his own penalty area, surpassing the entire defensive unit, before setting up Lorne Bickley with an open goal to finish.

Sunley made it four six minutes into the second half, meeting Henia-Kamau’s left-footed cross with a clever header into the far corner.

Substitute Darryl Mvalo then got in on the act in the 62nd minute, turning neatly before firing into the top-right corner to cap another flowing Bulls move.

Raynes Park pulled one back through Shamal Edwards in the 74th minute, producing an excellent first touch from a long ball before finishing well, but it did little to dampen the home side’s afternoon.

Elliot Powell was able to rotate his squad as the game wore on, with the result all but settled long before the final whistle.

The victory was an emphatic response from the Bulls, who had been looking forward to a return to Springfield after a demanding run of away fixtures.

With second hosting third, the reds delivered when it mattered and did so in style.
