The Domestic cricket Season 2026 edges toward its final sunset, yet the cricketing drama refuses to dim, as the DFDS Weekend Division 1 40 overs league destiny still hangs in the balance.
The title race remains on a knife’s edge and now carries the weight of this Sunday’s season‑defining final game.

Farmers CC 2nd XI currently leads the table on 120 points, with International Royals CC close behind on 100 points and one final fixture still to play.
Farmers, playing their last match of the campaign at home yesterday, had the chance to seal the championship.
Instead, the Royals produced one of their most commanding performances of the season, chasing 258 four wickets down in 38.3 overs to seal one of the most commanding wins of the season — a result that keeps their title ambitions very much alive.
Winning the toss, the Royals opted to bowl first, but it was Farmers’ openers, James Turnbull and Jack Kemp, who started brighter and laid a solid foundation with an 89 run stand.
Kemp was particularly fluent, backing up his recent unbeaten century with another half century here.
Momentum shifted however when Mohammad Palliyarakkan delivered two crucial breakthroughs, first removing Turnbull for 33 before dismissing Kemp for a well-made 71.
Although Royals continued to pick up wickets at steady intervals, valuable contributions from young Ollie Ramage and captain Andrew Kearsey guided Farmers to a competitive 258 for 9 from their 40 overs.
In response, Royals began with authority. A 67-run opening partnership between Aadi Singh and Vishal Sancheti settle tone.

Singh was first to go for 33, but his partner Sancheti reached his own half century at better than a run a ball. He would fall soon after though for 59, a second wicket for left-arm spinner Tom Shenton.
Sumit Kumar would make just 5 to leave the score 114 for 3, but the ever‑reliable Abhishek Hongekar (left) entered, whose unbeaten 63 kept the innings firmly on track.
Georon Claasen added a useful 36, and a brisk 45 from 33 balls from Nehal Naik ensured the chase was completed comfortably in the 39th over.
The stage is now set for Sunday at Grainville, where Royals face Walkovers , currently third in the standings, in what could become the decisive fixture of the season.
Royals hold their destiny in their own hands, while Farmers will be hoping Walkovers can deliver them one final favour.
In the weekend’s other game, Robin Carnegie starred for Walkovers 2s as they comfortably chased down St Ouen Springfield 2s’ target to take a 7-wicket win at Grainville.
SOS 2s started brightly with openers Harry Cutting and Hugo Gomersall scoring freely early. But regular wickets kept them in check and they were bundled out for 174 inside 37 overs.
Gomersall top scored for the Westerners with an excellent 63 in quick time, while Walkovers’ 13-year-old left-arm spinning star Charlie McGuiness was outstanding for figures of 3 for 21 from his 8 overs.
In reply, Jersey Under19 openers Theo Vautier (33) and Sonny Derrien (18) got Walkovers off to a decent start, before Carnegie stepped in to dominate.
The number 3 finished unbeaten on 93 from just 51 deliveries in a ruthless display of power hitting that saw his side home comfortably with 13 overs to spare.
With the DFDS Division 1 title still hanging in tense suspense, one verdict roars above the uncertainty – cricket stands triumphant.
