ST OUEN’S Reserves were crowned Championship 1 champions for the second season running in emphatic fashion this weekend, sealing the title with a dominant 6-0 victory to move out of reach at the top of the table with local football action coming to an end.

St Peter boosted their survival hopes in Premiership 1 with an impressive 4-1 victory over Grouville away from home. Luke Lister struck twice, while Thomas Boarer and Kevin Camacho also found the net, with Harrison Moon replying for Grouville.

The result leaves St Peter just one point behind St Ouen’s, who sit just outside the relegation zone but hold two games in hand.

St Brelade secured a 2-1 win over Madeira. Conor Maher and an own goal overturned Diogo Velosa’s opener, as Madeira produced a spirited display despite remaining bottom of the table on six points with five games left to play.

In the Whewhay Memorial Trophy, Vale Recreation edged St Paul’s 2-1 to book their place in the final, where they will face St Clement on 2 May.

Premiership 2 saw St John First end Rozel Rovers’ hopes of a treble with a 3-2 victory in the Tradesmen’s Trophy semi-final. Joe Cabral, Christian De Oliviera and Ethan Boudin scored for St John, while Nathan MacDonald replied for Rozel. St John will now meet Trinity in the final on 29 April.

In Championship 1, St Ouen’s Reserves clinched the title with a dominant 6-0 win over Jersey Wanderers Reserves. Stephen Coleman scored twice, with further goals from Stewart Daynes, Simao Oliviera, Dylan McGee and Joel Vieira sealing the crown with a game to spare.

St Clement Reserves defeated St Peter Reserves 4-2 thanks to a Taylor Roche brace, alongside strikes from Josh Hinds and Adam Falle. Ethan Rankin and Jacob Riley scored for St Peter. Grouville Reserves were also awarded three points after St Brelade were unable to field a side.

In Championship 2, Rozel Rovers Reserves beat First Tower United 2-1, with goals from Declan Pyne and Dominic Glennon.

In the Sylvia Spinola Memorial Cup, Jersey Wanderers Women overcame Sports Club of Jersey 5-3. Samantha Reis scored a hat-trick, with Tammie Wheeler also on target, while Vanessa Ramos, Lara Oliviera and Carla Vidinha replied for Sports Club.

St Peter Women recorded a 2-1 win over Rozel Rovers Women, with Soraya De Conceicao and Elizabeth Fenlon scoring for St Peter and Skye Da Silva netting for Rozel.

At youth level, two entertaining cup finals at Springfield provided plenty of goals and drama across the age groups.

St Peter produced a commanding performance to lift the Dave Melton U15 Cup with an emphatic 11-1 victory over St Paul’s.

Despite falling behind to Ethan Crompton’s opportunistic opener, St Peter quickly took control of proceedings. Ethan Mills led the charge with four goals, while Charlie Baird added a hat-trick in a relentless attacking display.

George Godfrey struck shortly after the restart to extend the advantage, and Kai-Lloy McGeever contributed twice after returning for the final. Harry Nightingale also found the net as St Peter’s forward line proved too strong, particularly after St Paul’s were reduced in numbers early in the second half.

The President’s U18 Cup final proved far more competitive, with Jersey Wanderers eventually pulling away to claim a 5-1 win over St Ouen.

Will Matthews fired St Ouen into an early lead against the run of play, and they held the advantage until Alex Hoblyn equalised just before the break. Wanderers edged ahead through Luke Stanley just before the hour, but St Ouen continued to threaten and struck the woodwork on two occasions.

The game was settled late on, with substitutes making the difference. Nelson Ferreira extended the lead before Luke Bosio calmly chipped the goalkeeper, and Danny Kent added a stoppage-time fifth to give the scoreline a more comfortable look for Wanderers after a closely fought contest.
