JERSEY’S finest female cricketing talent will be honored tomorrow night as part of Jersey Cricket’s annual awards night tomorrow, set to be hosted at The Royal Yacht Hotel.

Alongside the celebration of the men’s game, the island’s women will gather to celebrate the four nominees for Women’s Cricketer of the Year and five outstanding candidates to be recognised as Club Volunteer of the Year.
Volunteers are at the very hard of any sporting organisation, and the five people nominated for this award are being recognised for their humble efforts to give up their time and energy to continue to grow the local game.
Whether that be coaching junior academies through My Club My Journey fixtures early on Sunday mornings, to assisting with training sessions and much more.
Nominees include Tim Oldham (St Ouen Springfield), Jonny Heward (Old Victorians), Nigel Crocker (RGA Walkovers), Will Church (Farmers) and Anosh Thampi (International Royals).
Women’s Awards
The Jersey Women’s National team returned an outstanding 2025 season, which featured success on the European stage away and on home soil.
The four nominees represent precisely the grandure of those achievements.
Jersey began 2025 as recently crowned European Cricket Champions and took to their years fixtures with such aplomb.
Chloe Greechan – 22 wickets

Long-standing captain, Chloe Greechan, feels like a veteran in the game despite her still being comfortably in her 20s. Her canny left-arm spin and measured middle-order batting make her consistently high on both leaderboards.
She earns her nomination for this year after a table topping effort with the ball, finishing as the teams’ leading wicket taker with 22 at an impressive average of just 14.1.
Greechan’s highlight of the year came in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier Division 2 match in Rome, Italy, where she claimed figures of 4 for 13 against Sweden, including a hat-trick.
Grace Wetherall – 21 wickets & 539 runs

Next on the list is the one of two hard-hitting fast-bowling all rounders, Grace Wetherall.
Along with her winter playing high level Grade cricket in Australia, Wetherall dominated with both bat and ball, finishing as the second highest wicket taker with 21 and also contributing 539 runs with the bat.
Wetherall scored a match-winning 68 from 48 balls against Guernsey in their Inter Insular victory at KGV in July, as well as an unbeaten 60 against Isle of Man Women in the Cyprus WT20I Quadrangular Series and a brutal 85 for the Eastern Royals in the ECS-W Jersey Liberation T10 Series.
With the ball, Wetherall notched impressed to claim the second highest number of wickets, including a career-best spell of 4 for 17 against Germany in the Europe Qualifiers in Rome.
Analise Merritt – 16 wickets & 568 runs

Previous winner Analise Merritt laid a strong claim to recapture her crown, the fellow all rounder finishing with a team high of 568 runs and 16 wickets.
Merritt’s best efforts with the bat included recording Jersey’s highest ever WT20I score when she smashed 77 from 56 balls against Italy in the Europe Qualifiers in Rome.
Merritt also contributed a brutal 55 from 33 balls in the Inter Insular victory, sharing a 98 run stand with Wetherall to set up their 90 run victory.
With the ball, Merritt also recorded a 4fer, claiming 4 for 22 in their excellent 49 run victory over Isle of Man Women in Rome.
Aimee Aikenhead – 550 runs

Last but not least, opening batter Aimee Aikenhead earns a well deserved nomination with an excellent season of 550 runs at an average of 36.7.
Aikenhead produced a battling 58 from 53 balls to dominate a scorecard against a strong Swedish side in Rome, before producing a match-winning 32 not out against Spain in the same event.
Earlier in the season during the Cyprus Quadrangular Series, she scored another superb 63 from 34 balls to help Jersey to a thumping 8-wicket victory.
