JERSEY have their first gold medal of the 2023 NatWest Island Games in the men’s team triathlon.
The team of Ollie Turner, Tom Atkinson, David Holmes, Jack Kennedy and Richard Tanguy topped the podium ahead of Guernsey.
Turner’s strong individual performance – in which he claimed a silver medal – led the way for the Jersey team, while Atkinson’s fourth place helped Jersey pip their nearest rivals, despite the individual gold-medal winning performance of Josh Lewis.
Isle of Man secured the bronze medal led by Will Draper.
Meanwhile, Kim Garrett took the silver medal in the women’s race behind Guernsey’s Megan Chapple.
