The Tigers representatives, both 11 years old, led the way in the final local junior competition of the season, with impressive performances and personal bests at Les Quennevais earning them the highest number of points overall.

Meanwhile, Tigers coach Sian Silvester nominated Megan Cooper (12) and Joe Powell (13) for the Coaches Discretion awards following their positive displays over the last two weeks. The pair also swam well at the Barracudas SC Open in Guernsey last weekend, where meet records fell to Victoria Esslemont [10 yrs 200m freestyle, 2 min 40.14 sec], Jack Allan [15 yrs 50m fly, 27.62s] and Hansford [11 yrs 100m back, 1.18.74].

Clara Ginnis and Owen Clarke were nominated for the JSC’s coaches awards.

‘I am proud of what my junior squads have achieved this season,’ said Silvester. ‘They have been positive in and out the water and I can’t wait to see what next season brings.

‘I want to mention a big thank you to all the officials and parent helpers as it was such a beautiful sunny day, and with such an important football match going on we were lucky to still have dedicated support.’

A handful of those in action are set to compete at the British and England Championships over the coming weeks. Tom Deffains and Lily Scott will travel to both events, with Isaac Dodds, Gemma Atherley, Robbie Jones, Sol Bressat joining them at the British nationals. Tara Box and Beth Cooper will be travelling to the English event.
