Cycling: Ashton hits Gold Coast 2018 mark - again

TEAM selectors for the 2018 Commonwealth Games were given further evidence of Kim Ashton's capabilities on Sunday, with the Islander claiming victory at the South Region Road Race Championships.

The Jersey 2015 gold medallist finished ahead of a strong pack in Winchester, on a course which has provided success in the past, to strengthen her call for a seat on the plane to the Gold Coast next April.

The result represents a fifth top-six finish at national level for the former badminton player. Just one was required to meet the standard set by the Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey.
