Sport: Still time for Bahamas Games hopefuls

JERSEY will name their squad for the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games just two months before the opening ceremony in the Bahamas to give track and field athletes time to meet qualification criteria.

Commonwealth Games Association of Jersey president Paul du Feu has confirmed that the list of competitors will not be released until 10 May, allowing those hoping to represent the Island in athletics a chance to make use of early events in the outdoor season.

Juniors are also in line for selection in tennis, swimming and, for the first time since 2004, cycling.
