Durrant seeks Open darts double

Sport | Published:

TEESSIDER Glen Durrant has his sights set on a second Open singles title win today at the Merton Hotel in St Helier.

And if he achieves the feat, worth £6,200, at the Target Jersey Festival of Darts this evening it will be an early birthday present as the first-year circuit player is 42 next Saturday.

Durrant had an excellent weekend at the 2012 English Darts Organisation England Classic in September when he defeated Scott Waites, one of the leading BDO players, 6-5 in a thrilling final.

Durrant and good friend Tony Eccles also won the pairs title at the same event.
