David Le Quesne leads a strong Jersey squad in their pursuit of team and individual glory at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Imperial Meeting in Surrey.
The Islanders have enjoyed a near perfect first half of the season following excellent wins against the NRA team and Guernsey coming in successive weekends at the end of May and the beginning of June.
The centrepiece of the Imperial Meeting comes on Friday week when Jersey face Great Britain, Guernsey, Canada and Kenya in the Kolapore – the most prestigious short-range match in international rifle shooting.
Kolapore success has been achieved twice before by Jersey in 1984 and in 1995. But in recent years the Island team has struggled at 600 yards, the final and furthest distance.
