Three days of racing will be held in St Aubin’s Bay from 24 August with between 60 and 70 boats expected to take part from around the United Kingdom and Europe. Brewin Dolphin, who have supported the Channel Islands Hobie Cat Championships for the past four years, will be the banner sponsors.
Next year the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club celebrates their 150th anniversary and to host such a prestigious event will be a fitting occasion for the St Aubin-based club. RCIYC Commodore Rodney Waller said: ‘Together with the members, we are delighted to be hosting the championships in the year in which we are celebrating our 150th anniversary. I hope lots of competitors will come from the mainland and Europe to enjoy excellent racing in the wonderful sailing arena of St Aubin’s Bay.’
