Both the Plus 8 50th Anniversary Special Edition and Aero GT are special versions of two of the British manufacturer’s most famous sports cars. The roadsters – which made their global debut at the first of two press days at the event – signify the end of the Aero range, and the half-century milestone for the Plus 8.

Just 50 examples of the Plus 8 50th Anniversary will be produced, marking 50 years since the original Plus 8 was introduced. The first V8-powered production Morgan, close to 6,000 Plus 8s have been built since 1968.

This special run will mark the final time that a Plus 8 will use a BMW-sourced V8 engine too, with a new powertrain set to arrive soon. Here, the Plus 8’s low 1,110 kg weight combined with the powerful engine allow for a 0-60 mph sprint time of 4.2 seconds and a 155 mph top speed.

It’s available in one of two specifications: either as a blue ‘speedster’, or in British racing green with a soft top. Both cars are accompanied by a Christopher Ward C1 special-edition anniversary watch for the driver. Prices for the Morgan Plus 8 50th Anniversary start at £107,500.

The Aero GT, meanwhile, is a race-inspired version of the company’s Aero 8 sports car.

Priced from £120,000, only eight examples will be produced – with the run marking the end of the Aero 8’s production. Each car receives hand-worked body panels and an aerodynamic rear diffuser.

All eight examples have been allocated through the Morgan Global Retailer network, and each features a BMW-sourced V8 sending 367 bhp via a manual gearbox to the rear wheels.

The sprint to 60 mph takes just 4.1 seconds and it’ll hit a top speed of 170 mph. All cars come with the option of a carbon-fibre hard top, too.
