A culture of support and empowerment

At LGL Group, we strive to not only support our employees, but also to empower them, by providing the tools they need to succeed in their career.

Equality and inclusion play a large part in the empowerment of our people, and we recognise that an equal and inclusive workforce will lead to an innovative and dynamic business.

At the foundation of an equal and inclusive workforce is internal culture, and we are conscious that this needs to be reviewed regularly. This will not only help to keep the business on track, but will also ensure the best support for the development and growth of our employees – the most important part of our business.

We recently launched a mentoring programme to help develop our internal culture, allowing senior or high-performing employees to share their knowledge, skills and experience with newer or less-experienced employees. This will help to build strong relationships between our employees and could hopefully lead to advancement in their careers.

We have the same amount of female and male employees, and all are given equal pay and rewarded with promotions if they demonstrate exceptional performance. We are proud that 40% of our board are women, and we wanted to take this opportunity to showcase the exceptional career journeys of three of our senior leaders.

Lisa Higgins

I have had an interesting career journey which has eventually led me to LGL Group. I started as head of human resources for a local investment company, worked as a project manager for State Street and held various lecturing roles at Highlands College.

While working at Highlands, I also studied human resources, management and teaching. I have enjoyed being able to bring my skills and passions to LGL Group by mentoring and coaching upcoming talent.

Zena Couppey

I have had a diverse career journey to date, commencing my employment at the tender age of 16 at Ernst & Young. I rose through the ranks to hold various senior titles, previously as managing director of client services for a FTSE 250 business, and now as chief commercial officer of LGL.

It was challenging to manage my busy career and study for my IOD alongside raising a young family, which is why I recently took 14 months away from work. I learnt that allowing myself to find the right work-life balance is important, and I encourage all our employees to find theirs too.

When I joined LGL Group, it was refreshing to see a business that truly puts their people first and promotes a healthy work-life balance. Furthermore, I’m extremely proud to be part of a company that ensures diversity and inclusion are a part of its culture, allowing equal opportunities for all.

Angelina Spunt

I started my career at a prestigious law firm in Jersey and moved on to qualify as a Solicitor of England and Wales. Over the past 18 years, I have worked in various large institutional firms and, prior to joining LGL Group, I was head of legal for a major international banking group.

I wanted to work for LGL Group because they demonstrated that they actively listen to their employees, value individuals’ differences and encourage every employee to reach their full potential.
