Digital Jersey 2019 Tech Award entries open

It is the second year that the awards have taken place, with an expansion in the number of categories.

The work of those in Jersey’s digital sector who keep businesses and individuals safe in the face of increasing online threats is to be celebrated with the Security Implementation of the Year Award, and there will be two Technology Student of the Year prizes – meaning both under-16s and over-16s will be in the running for top honours.

Tony Moretta, chief executive of Digital Jersey, said: ‘The inaugural Jersey
Tech Awards were one of the stand-out highlights of last year for me. It was a
rare moment for all those working in the sector to stop and truly take stock of
the great work that’s happening in the Island.

‘In the year we open our new Digital Skills Academy, I am delighted we have two chances to highlight the work of technology students – our next-generation workforce.’

The awards ceremony is sponsored by Prosperity 24-7 and supported by BCS Jersey, and will take place at the Royal Yacht Hotel on Thursday 17 October.

The categories are:

  • Digital Company of the Year
  • Technology Project of the Year
  • Best Use of Technology in Education
  • Technology Student of the Year: Senior
  • Technology Student of the Year: Junior
  • Technology Teacher of the Year
