Businesses more optimistic about economic prospectss
A SURVEY shows that there are some signs of economic recovery, with business confidence rising, according to the president of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce.
David Warr said that the results reinforced the need for the States to work together with the business community to sustain the fragile turnaround in optimism. 'The message we appear to be receiving is that any economic recovery is still very delicately poised,' he said.
The survey of members of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce in November showed that businesses were feeling more confident about the prospects for the economy than they were earlier this year.
The body that represents all sectors of Island trade found that there was more optimism among its members than there had been when a similar exercise had been carried out earlier in the year, the results of which were published in July.
