ISLANDERS eligible for flu or Covid vaccinations will be able to receive their vaccinations next week.

The jabs will be available from GP surgeries from Tuesday, while pharmacies will also be able to offer flu vaccinations.

Those eligible for a free flu vaccination include all Islanders aged 65 and over, pregnant women, adults living in care homes for older adults and people living with certain long- term health conditions and other eligible at-risk groups.

Islanders aged 75 and over, adults living in care homes for older adults and immunocompromised individuals aged six months and over can received a Covid booster

Dr Andrea Sanabria, interim director of Public Health, said: “Vaccination is one of the best ways to protect yourself against serious illness from flu, Covid-19 and RSV, particularly for those who are more vulnerable to becoming seriously unwell.

“I encourage everyone who is eligible to take up the offer of vaccination by booking an appointment with their GP or, for flu vaccinations, visiting a participating pharmacy.

“Getting vaccinated as early as possible in the season will help ensure you have the best possible protection over the winter months.”
