HAVE you ever wondered what secrets are hiding in Jersey’s past? This summer, Jersey Library is inviting young visitors to become History Detectives and solve clues from hundreds of years ago.
The adventure begins with a portrait of Philippe Falle, who was born in Jersey more than 350 years ago.
He loved books so much that he gave more than 2,000 of them to the people of Jersey, helping to create the Island’s public library.
Visitors can collect a challenge sheet from the first-floor enquiry desk before following clues around the library.
They will search for Philippe Falle’s birth year, look at one of the oldest maps in the Reading Room, explore old newspapers and solve puzzles along the way.
The library’s Local Studies Collection is packed with old photographs, maps and family history records, giving young detectives the chance to discover what Jersey was like in the past.
Families and friends are all welcome to join the challenge and see what they can uncover.
