THE Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services will move to a new home next week.

The service is relocating from Liberté House to Bermuda House on Green Street in St Helier from Monday.

The main part of the move will take place over the weekend to minimise disruption for children, young people and families.

While services are expected to continue with little interruption, neurodevelopmental assessment appointments will be moved to the Enid Quenault Centre for one day on Monday. Patients affected by the temporary change will be contacted directly and all services are expected to resume from Bermuda House as normal on Tuesday.

The new premises have been adapted specifically to meet the clinical and operational needs of the service, with the building featuring 17 clinical rooms designed to provide high-quality care.

The design of the new facility has been shaped by feedback from children and young people, who highlighted the importance of having more discreet access to mental health services.

The Children, Young People, Education and Skills Department said the feedback has helped create an environment where patients can feel safe, respected and comfortable when attending appointments.

CAMHS staff have also played a key role in designing the new space to ensure it supports both clinical care and day-to-day operations, while representatives from the Jersey Care Commission and the Children’s Commissioner also visited the building during its development to help shape the project.

A statement from the Children, Young People, Education and Skills Department said that the new facility “strengthens the services’ ability to meet increasing demand and improves the experience for children, young people, families, and staff, while supporting the ongoing delivery of high‑quality mental health care and treatment”.
