Residents at Cherry Orchard Court evacuated after smell of gas reported

A NUMBER of residents were evacuated from Cherry Orchard Court this morning following reports of a smell of gas.

The Justice and Home Affairs department stated that the Jersey Fire and Rescue Service was called to support Island Energy at the Valley Road site, just after 8:30am.

States police also attended.

The response followed two separate reports of a smell of gas in the area.

“Island Energy are on scene,” the statement added.

“A number of residents were evacuated as a precaution and are being supported by Andium Homes.”
