A FORMER President of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce has returned to lead the organisation on an interim basis.
Eliot Lincoln was appointed Interim President at Chamber’s annual general meeting.
Mr Lincoln previously served as Chamber vice-President and President between 2015 and 2019. He is a director of Helier Consulting, which provides director services and change-management support to clients.
He steps into the position vacated by Lee Madden, who departed at the start of June after confirming that he had made a private donation to political movement Value Jersey some 18 months ago when he was vice-president.
The sum of the donation has never been revealed, but Mr Madden previously told the JEP “it was not in the hundreds” and was only for the movement’s “initial scoping”.
He confirmed at the time that he had been Vice-President when he gave the money and he would never have done so as president.
“Ever since I have known I was becoming president, I have distanced myself from Value Jersey and had no involvement in it whatsoever. I have been diligently independent and apolitical as president, and I remain so,” Mr Madden said.
The latest Chamber AGM also confirmed Ferryspeed chief executive and former Ports of Jersey chief of staff Darren Scott as Vice-President.
Claire Reynard was appointed Chair of Employment and Skills. Ms Reynard, Group Human Resources Manager for Seymour Hotels, had been Interim Chair of the committee and is also an ambassador for the Jersey Employment Trust.
