A ST HELIER pub is celebrating winning court approval to extend its outdoor space by just 60cm – a small change it says will make a big difference.
The change – approved by the Licensing Assembly in the Royal Court last Friday – means that The Peirson is now able to add an additional five tables in its Royal Square al fresco area.
The extra space will be on Peirson Place, a passage that links the Royal Square with King Street.
Cezary Krol, who independently operates The Peirson under lease from Butcombe group, explained: “By extending the terrace 60cm towards Peirson Place and making use of another 40cm that wasn’t being used, we’ve gained a full extra metre.
“That means we can add five more outdoor tables from May through to the end of September, giving people even more room to relax and enjoy alfresco drinks and dining.”
Mr Krol said his team was “really excited about the extra space”.
The pub had recently gone through a number of upgrades, he said, adding: “We’ve also redecorated the function room and invested in new outdoor tables and chairs to make the whole space feel great, and it’s all part of a wider refresh we’re doing with the Butcombe Group, who’ve also upgraded the toilets to give the whole pub a new lease of life.”
