MULTIPLE emergency service vehicles and dozens of firefighters have attended a major fire in St Helier, with several residents being led from a blazing building.
The continuing incident began at around 8.30pm when a 999 call was made about smoke and flames coming from a building above a hair salon in Beresford Street.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus forced their way into the building and an eye-witness report stated that at least three people had been brought out.
The entire area was closed off with traffic prevented from turning down Bath Street from the junction with Phillips Street.
Early reports did not specify that any casualties had been reported, however the incident is ongoing, with updates to follow later in the evening or on Tuesday morning.
