An exclusive Question Time style event featuring Carl Walker, Chairman of the Jersey Consumer Council and Mark Cox, CEO of the Channel Islands Coop alongside a panel of experts (to be announced) who will explore the key factors that contribute to the cost of living in the Island and discuss whether we are indeed in a crisis, and if so, how we solve it.
This is a unique opportunity to be face to face with decision makers and the Island’s most influential people. We invite you to interact and put your questions forward to the panel.
With questions driven by the audience, expect a candid, good-humoured exchange of ideas – and perhaps a few sparks – as we unpack what the cost of living crisis really means for Islanders and businesses alike.
Please note, if you would like to come, but are unable to afford the ticket price, please email marketing@allisland.media.

Meet the panel

Carl Walker, Chairman of the Jersey Consumer Council
Carl Walker has led the Consumer Council as Chairman since April 2018. He joined the Council following a 22-year journalism career in both the UK and Jersey, which led to him becoming Deputy Editor of the Jersey Evening Post. Carl also created the Pride of Jersey awards over 10 years ago. Since moving on from journalism, and alongside leading the Jersey Consumer Council, Carl has established his own media training and communications consultancy business, and compères for various local events. He is also Editor of the Grouville Gazette, and in 2025 was appointed as Communications and Marketing Director for Jersey Bulls.

Mark Cox, CEO of the Channel Islands Coop
Mark joined the CI Coop in 2010, and was appointed as CEO and director in July 2020.
Mark’s career in the retail industry started over three decades ago so his knowledge and expertise in this field, combined with a thorough understanding of the Coop’s pan-island business’ needs and requirements are an invaluable asset. Mark is a strong advocate for championing local businesses, charities and community initiatives.
