DFDS has said that increased demand across its Jersey routes has resulted in “a very positive forward booking position for the summer”.
The update from the Danish shipping firm comes after Ports of Jersey released information highlighting improved travel figures seen at the airport and harbour last month – and stated that the outlook for the remainder of the year was “encouraging”.
This included data regarding passenger numbers to and from St Malo, which were up 31% in January against the same period last year.
DFDS said the performance had been driven largely by the success of its 24-hour fare, offering return crossings for £32 (€34).
Additionally, the ferry operator revealed that more than 80,000 passengers have already booked to travel with it to and from Jersey in 2026.

This includes bolstered figures on both the Poole–Jersey and St Malo–Jersey routes compared to 2025, with the company also stating that “more inbound group travel has already been secured for the coming summer than travelled in the whole of the previous year”.
DFDS route director for Jersey, Chris Parker, cited “a very positive forward booking position for the summer”, which he said “gives us confidence in the continued strength of demand for travel to and from the Island”.
“We are also pleased with the response to our 24-hour fare, which has exceeded expectations and clearly resonated with both local travellers and visitors from France,” he added.
The figures were also welcomed by Jersey Hospitality Association co-chief executives Ana and Marcus Calvani.
They said: “We’re pleased that the collaboration between the industry, ferry operator and government is showing signs of positive strong growth and confidence, creating opportunities to further develop offers and increase bookings.
“The development of DFDS Holidays, new partnerships and favourable sailing times from St Malo are set to benefit the Island, businesses and residents, and we’re looking forward to seeing more strong numbers as we go through the year.”
